On a special day, you may want something else than the classical freshly pressed orange juice. A breakfast drink that makes clear that this day is different from a normal Sunday. More like Christmas, Easter or any other day you want to remember more than others. For this day, you can pimp up your freshly pressed orange juice with pineapple juice, cranberry juice and (spicy) ginger ale to a festive fruit juice for breakfast
festive fruit juice for breakfast
Ingredients
- 250 ml orange juice freshly pressed
- 250 ml pineapple juice
- 250 ml cranberry juice
- 250 ml ginger ale spicy if you want
Instructions
- Put the fruit juices and the ginger ale in the refrigerator the day before.
- Press the oranges and mix with the other fruit juices and the ginger ale.
Notes
- If you don't like the carbonation, you can make the fruit juice the evening before and put it in the refrigerator.
- The other way around you can prepare the fruit juice already the evening before without the ginger ale. And add this only just before you serve it.
- Can't miss the alcohol? Then halve the amounts of pineapple juice and ginger beer. Replace it with vodka, white wine or sparkling wine of your choice.
Nutrition
Of course, you can vary with different ingredients in countless combinations. I like for example the spicy ginger ale because it gives some counterweight to the sweetness of the fruit juices. A bit of lime juice, or lemon juice may also do wonders to this brunch drink.
You can't miss the alcohol? Or are you thinking of serving this festive fruit juice for aperitif? Then replace half of the pinapple juice and half of the ginger ale with you favorite wodka or (sparkling) wine.
Just like any other fruit juice, this festive fruit juice for breakfast tastes best when it comes cool from the refrigerator. You can prepare it the evening before already without the ginger beer, and just add this in the morning. Or, if you don't like the carbonation, you can add the ginger ale already the evening before too. Or put all the fruit juices and the ginger ale in the fridge and prepare everything in 5 minutes in the morning.
