How to make this healthy cocoa smoothie with kiwi and avocado?

You can make this cocoa smoothie with kiwi and avocado in no time. You really don’t have to get up early to serve this for breakfast.

Let's start with the secret ingredient: coconut water. You can get this fairly easily in your local supermarket these days. It's super healthy: low in calories and high in electrolytes. I am meanwhile a big fan of it. You may also want tot try this healthy coconut water smoothie with banana, mango and pineapple.

That coconut water goes in the blender first. In order to obtain an optimal blending, it is important that the liquid elements are at the bottom.

Then we need to prepare the avocado and the kiwis. We only need the flesh of both. Not the skin, and of course not the pit of the avocado. We cut the avocado lengthwise with a large kitchen knife. With a half turn we then divide the avocado in two. One half with pit and the other without. We then remove the pit with a teaspoon. Then all you have to do is spoon the flesh out of the skin. And add to the coconut water in the blender.

Similar procedure for the kiwis. We halve the kiwis in width. And there too we spoon the flesh out of the skin. We add it also to the coconut water and avocado flesh in the blender.

Finally the cocoa, cinnamon and honey go into the blender. Now we have all the ingredients ready. And the mixing can begin. Do this for one or two minutes until everything is well mixed and smooth. And so we are already at the last step: pouring it into glasses and enjoying it.

Also and even especially suitable for children

Children, but also adults are fond of cocoa. And although cocoa is very healthy in itself, it is usually combined with way too much sugar and milk. Very tasty of course, but a calorie bomb with lots of sugar.

By using coconut water and fruits we solve both problems. Coconut water is very healthy. It is not only low in calories, but also high in electrolytes. So this is also an extremely tasty regeneration drink after active sports.

We replace the sugar with the natural sweeteners of the fruit and honey. These natural sweeteners are much healthier than the refined sugar.

And so the children can enjoy their delicious cocoa drink that is healthy and sweet at the same time. Without realizing it, they get their portion of vitamins. Parents happy, children happy!

    How healthy is cocoa?

You probably know that cocoa is the fruit of the cocoa tree. And there are two ways to make cocoa powder out of it. The cold method is very healthy, and the cocoa obtained in this way is known as a superfood. With the cold method, the mass is pressed out of the bean under high pressure. Which leaves us with cocoa powder and cocoa butter.

With the hot method, the cocoa bean is roasted at a high temperature. This is by the way the Dutch method. In doing so, some of the healthy nutrients are lost. Then they are pressed and ground. Unfortunately, a lot of cocoa that we find in the supermarket is made in this last way. So not superfood, but still very healthy.
