About surprising.recipes
Surprising.recipes is the English spin-off of gerechtenweb.blog, a dutch blog with healthy, easy and surprising recipes. Gerechtenweb was created in early 2007 to do something with blogging, photos and cooking. The intention is to publish simple and surprising recipes. From 2007 to May 2012 I have put 75 dishes online with iWeb. When iWeb ceased to exist, I migrated everything to wordpress.com. In 2013 I started with an additional English version.
The very first recipe I published on surprising.recipes was Melting pot of chocolate and baileys. It was and is a family favorite, also known as "the dessert of uncle Toon". I remembered my nieces starting to cry on one occasion when I made something different for dessert. In 2013 I had moved to Germany and most of my international friends were limited in their Dutch language knowledge. So I started surprising, recipes with some old family favorites.
In 2016 I had enough posts and traffic to start with a yearly ranking, as in my Dutch blog gerechtenweb.blog. This is an overview of the most viewed surprising.recipes in 2016. See which recipes visitors liked most in 2016. It is of course a lot of additional work to translate everything in English. And regularly I am challenged by the translation. But it makes fun, and so I still continue to do so (now in 2020)'.
If you speak Dutch, you can find the Dutch version of this recipe on gerechtenweb.blog.
