A few weeks ago, I was asked to prepare the appetizers for a family gathering. the challenge is always to prepare surprising appetizers, but at the same time ensure that people are still able to eat from the rest of the menu. And they should not be too labour intensive. After all, I want to pass the time with my family and not with the kitchen. So I came up with these Boursin bites with smoked salmon on rye rounds and cucumber. Something new and surprising, light and very easy to make.
"Du vin, du pain, du Boursin". It is probably one of the most iconic advertising slogans. Launched back in 1972, it is still known and actual Today. The history of Boursin is also very interesting: it was developed for years by a peasant in Normandy, France and reached the market in 1963. It became an instant succes and conquered France and the world in the following years.
For sure I will do more Boursin in future, now that I rediscovered this delicious French herb cheese. So stay tuned and maybe I will share some more Boursin recipes.
